In an atmosphere dominated by humour and eroticism, this is an exploration of blurred attitudes, inspired by the world of the German painter. Beings, haunted by the convulsive memory of a former existence, appear behind a trompe l’oeil wall with windows riddled with holes… The actors and dancers appear through trompe l’oeil windows and create living paintings, gradually revealing a story of designs and obsessions from the Renaissance.
The company’s ‘classic’ performance, Les dernières hallucinations de Lucas Cranach l'Ancien is emblematic of Mossoux- Bonté’s fascination with image and detail.
The performance was premiered in January 1990 at the Theater de Synagoge in Tilburg (Th e Netherlands). Since then, it has seen two new versions and over 150 performances.
