Neboj

A group of individuals obstruct the entrance of a tunnel. It looks like they are trying to talk to us. Their questions left unanswered, they recoil inexorably, aspiring us into their night universe.

They go backwards in the footsteps of their lives, happy with the lines of gestures and the energy of the bodies, their past joys and disappointments, until they find themselves in a state of pure energy, a trance danced. We turn our backs, so they enter the light.

The tunnel Karlin-Zizkov taken as a metaphor for life whose beginning has been forgotten, and whose end is unknown, yet waiting for us at the turn ...

The in situ performance Neboj saw the light of day following a workshop given in April 2018 by Nicole Mossoux to the Janácek Academy of Music and Performing Arts students in the Czech Republic. It was part of the 30th Tanec Praha Festival, in collaboration with Landscape Festival, on June 8th in Špilberk in Brno and in Žižkovský tunnel in Prague on June 15th 2018.
