Nuit sur le monde

An image of a base relief composed of figures that begin to move, detaching themselves from the stone and the shadows… Sudden falls, uncertain coyness or runaway movement — humanity arrives with all its doubts about its origin and the certainty of its own end. The performance mixes situations that speak about vanity and eternal rebirth with humour and critical distance. The dancers throw themselves into a dispassionate journey through high emotion and plunge into an opaque mystery and its stormy vibrations.

A rhythmical meter runs through the piece: it comes from the bodies’ secrets and their desire to simultaneously appear and disappear. The sea rises and descends, the dead are pushed into the abyss and we sing a lullaby to the living under the empire of the night and in the heart of strangeness.
